Frank is the owner of K9 OPSBOX, Canine Olfactory Proficiency System for detection dogs. He has a vast background in military, law enforcement, K9 training and K9 detection work.
He has served in the US Army’s Military Police and Military Working Dog Program. He graduated from the Department of Defense Patrol Dog course, Detector Dog course with honors, and the Military Working Dog Trainer/Supervisor course.
Frank served as a troubleshooter for the US Army, Armed Forces Command (FORSCOM) where he transferred kennels that were unable certify for many years. He turned them around and was able to get them certified. As a result, the base was able to keep the K9 program. He received numerous awards and medals for his work in the Military Working Dog Program. He eventually retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeant, E8.
Frank also served as a Peace Officer for the California Highway Patrol. During his employment with the CHP, he was also awarded Peace Officer of the Year by the Marin County Police Officer’s Association. He was assigned to CHP Golden Gate Division Criminal Interdiction team and K9 Unit. As an additional duty Frank was also CHP's Golden Gate Division’s K9 trainer and coordinator.
Frank managed the California Highway Patrol's Departmental K9 Program as their Master Trainer at CHP Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. He was responsible for testing potential K9 candidates for purchase, training handlers and their K9 Partners for patrol and detection at the CHP Academy. He also had the responsibility of training the CHP Divisions K9 Trainers. He created CHP’S training fields and managed the kennels. At the CHP Training Facility, Frank donated a monument that recognizes every CHP K9 that has served from the start of the CHP K9 program.
